Lynn - Hatha Yoga

I began teaching Yoga in 2005. My speciality is Hatha Yoga and relaxation. I truly believe that you will find an aspecy of Yoga that will benefit you. This wonderful therapy is for your whole body and everybody. My lessons each have a different theme running throughout. I calmly and gently describe and guide you through a flowing form of Yoga working with your breath, through posture work, breathing exercises and relaxation.
I have been practicing Yoga for over 24 years. I reached for Yoga after a fall off a ladder at work - (I was a window dresser at the time). I turned to Yoga initially to help strengthen my back and improve my flexibility. I soon discovered the art of Yoga was more than just exercises - and so my journey began. The many aspects of Yoga have helped me through the various stages of my life - store manager, staff/manager trainer, conference presenter, prgnancy, child birth, motherhood and my children's G.C.S.E's. life's full circle.
As my family grew up and my values changed, I wanted to share my belief and understanding of Yoga with others. I trained with The Inner Healing School of Yoga and each year I continue to study, learn and develop myself in associated therapies and styles of Yoga, including a Childrens Yoga course with Calm for Kids. I work with all ages and levels of ability.
The Sunday class I teach at BALANCE is a chill-out relaxation class, designed for your whole body and everybody - from complete beginner to advanced Yogi. Each class has a theme, seasonal influences and is a fun light hearted class. On Monday morning I teach Hatha and Core class that will both tone and strengthen your body and relax your mind.
Debbie Luck - Pilates Teacher
It was the early 90's after two children when I became a "fitness freak". Attending many classes I soon realised I'd rather be teaching than participating. I passed my RSA in aerobics and quickly began exhausting myself "going for the burn" teaching aerobics, aqua and circuit training. For 10 years of leg warmers and leotards and purely out of needing a change, I attended a Pilates class. After years of punishing my body I'd found a new challenging workout...I was hooked. I couldn't wait to learn more and to teach others the great benefits of this strong exercise and rejoice in the fact our goals can be achieved without over stressing with 'high impact' and gruelling workouts, I had a new a new direction and loved it.
I offer two classes a week where you will feel energised, strong, flexible, very body aware and gain a sense of achievement whatever your ability or fitness level. You will soon see and feel the benefits of this wonderful workout and become as hooked as I am!

Sun Power Yoga / Sports & Remedial Massage Therapist
Vivienne Titmuss –
Flow & Form Yoga
I first found yoga in 1997 when I was advised to learn how to relax to
help cope with the pressures of working in advertising in London. I left
the class feeling both physically and mentally different and with the
thought that there was definitely something very special about yoga. I
continued to regularly attend classes as well as seeking out teachings
during my travels.
Upon leaving the advertising world, an inner instinct directed me to train
in massage (remedial, sports and therapeutic) and as my awareness of
the connection between emotional and physical health and well-being
grew from bodywork, and also my own yoga journey, I decided to
become a yoga teacher so I could share what I feel is the oldest personal
development system with both adults and children. I trained to teach
adults and childrens’ yoga with The Special Yoga Centre.
I teach breath-focused yoga with flowing sequences and postures
combined with healthy alignment instruction. My classes will leave you
feeling more flexible, strong and balanced in both body and mind.
Classes are suitable for all types of ability, from those new to yoga to the
more experienced practitioner. My teaching is focused and fun with the
aim of helping individuals to enjoy the lightness that yoga practise can
bring both on and off the mat. Postural advice and 1-to-1 sessions are
also available.

Dynamic and Ashtanga Yoga

While my personal journey with Yoga began 10 years ago, I tried to become a Yoga Teacher with the Chi YOga School and began teaching in January 2008. My style of Yoga is Dynamic and influenced by Ashtanga, which really reflects my Yoga experience and practice in both Hatha and Ashtanga. My class is to suit all levels and abilities. As a yoga Teacher it is important to me that you feel confident about your yoga practice so that you can enjoy all the benefits physically and mentally.
Yoga continues to inspire me to learn more, enjoy more and practise more as it is a life long journey for me both as a student and a teacher.
MARIE Ryan
( Beginners Ashtanga yoga)
I have been practising yoga for four years and have recently qualified as a teacher.
My style, which is Ashtanga based, has been influenced by my personal travels to
India, Nepal, Tibet, Hong Kong, Thailand and Bali.
My class includes breath work, classic asanas, and relaxation and is recommended for
beginners. Members which more experience are also welcome and will have
opportunities to improve and extend their practice.
I enjoy the peace that practice brings and the continuous learning challenges of Yoga.
CARL Simmons
( BALANCE mixed Vinyasa/Hatha & discussion)
Having been away from the health and fitness industry for some 25 years where I
worked as a gym instructor, I found myself looking for a form of exercise that was
sustainable and rewarding. Suffering with the usual aches and pains of old sporting
injuries and the inevitable mental pressures of the self-employed, I came upon yoga.
I found a teacher who inspired me to look more deeply into both the practice and
philosophy of Yoga and I was taken by the beauty and practicality of Patanjali’s Yoga
Sutras. My personal practice developed and, realising that the best way to learn was
to teach, I trained and qualified as a teacher with the Independent Yoga Network
My style of Yoga would best be described as an eclectic Hatha with a Tantric
perspective: a practice that incorporates elements from many schools of both Indian
and Chinese Yoga including dynamic vinyasa flow, held postures, aspects of Thai Chi
and Qigong practice, restorative Yin posture work, visualisation, breath control and
discussion.
This open approach is designed to make my classes accessible to all levels of ability,
promoting a sustainable personal practice which will evolve naturally to develop a
strong and flexible body, improve posture, and increase cardiovascular capacity.
Insights taken from the traditional teachings of Yoga will offer the tools by which
students can harmonise all aspects of their lives and find their true potential.
